What mostly fascinates me about sculpture is the physical adventure: at one hand, a growing idea; at the other, a lot of inert materials, but with characteristics of
their own. One going towards the other. In my sculptures there are always two elements present, two antagonistic powers. The dialogue established between these two elements is mans own history. The mental element and the animal element. Reason and impulse.
The chosen material will determine the work final appearance. Whether polished or dull, wrinkled or delicate, rigid or malleable, sometimes treated with care, sometimes with thrust, it seeks to express the original purpose.
